Prior to laser hair removal please do not wax, tweeze, or epilate the area to be treated. The treatment area should be shaved one to two days before the procedure. A highly trained Skin Deep Laser Technician or Skin Consultant will discuss any additional considerations. Laser hair removal generally requires no anesthesia. The laser will feel like a slight snapping against your skin. If the snap from the laser is too much to bear, then inquire about an appropriate numbing cream to apply prior to your appointment. Depending on the body region being treated, laser hair removal can take just a few moments or up to an hour.
The treated area may have the appearance of mild sunburn that can be camouflaged with cosmetics or soothed with a topical ointment. We recommend no direct sun exposure post laser treatment.
Avoiding sun exposure before and after laser treatments is exceptionally important. Lasers react to pigment; therefore, any excess pigment in your skin can affect your results and increase the potential for burns.
